Pollination Services

Lake Effect Apiaries provides pollination services to local fruit and vegetable farmers to aid in higher crop yields and better quality produce.

Pollination service is a specialized kind of farm service that requires not only expertise in beekeeping, but also substantial horticulture knowledge to meet the needs of fruit, vegetable, and seed producers (i.e. sunflowers). Management of bees is different for pollination as compared to colonies managed for honey production.  Our bees currently over-winter in southern Georgia and northern Florida so that we can ensure our colonies have a MINIMUM of eight frames of bees to maximize effective pollination.

We provide pollination services both for farmers who are experienced with using honeybees and for farmers who may never have used honeybees in the past. We would love to talk with you and explain how crop pollination will both increase your yields and produce a better quality crop. We are available to meet with you throughout the year to discuss placement of hives and answer any questions you may have pertaining to the use of bees for pollination.
